glacier hike - new zealand

PREFACE - no internet so this might get cut off

ok so we got to new zealand yesterday (3 hour flight) and then got right onto a bus and drove for over 6 hours... it was a really long day of traveling. we got to the hostel (name unknown) at like 1030, got our rooms and went out to grab some grub and a few drinks at a local dive bar (blue ice). it was a typical local bar, nothing too special. got back at like 12 and passed out.

so today we got up at 6:30 to get all ready for our glacier hike. sadly it was POURING. didnt matter, we got up and met at Fraz josef glacier guides and got our gear (boots, pants, socks, rain coat) and then we got some quick breakfast. we then got on a 10 min bus ride to the glacier hike place and broke up into groups. myself, and all 8 other guys on the trip along with 3 girls were in the first group. so we got all set to go and were speeding through a rain forsest to get to the glacier. that part was really hilly and tough, broke a nice sweat even though it was pouring. finally we got to the bottom of this huge piece of ice (aka glacier) and put our clamp ons on. basicaly they are really intense baseball cleat type thigns that go over the boots so we can walk. we started up the glacier. it would rain on and off the enitire way up. luckily i got some amazing pictures before it got too intense. for about 2/3 of the trip it was pretty sick, i could deal with the rain. the last third was really rough, downpour... like nothing ive ever been in.

i only have like 2 minutes left so im going to get off. we are going to queenstown tomorrow for 3 days. i assume that if this place hjas internet the next will

lots of love

cheers
