SO BORED

Ok so out of pure boredom I am going to start this whole blog thing. I haven't actually left for Australia yet, so this is a little premature.

I'm going to Australia for my spring semester, but my program (Study-Australia) does not start until way too late. Apparently the semester in Australia doesn't start until March, but thankfully I leave before classes start. I leave this Sunday, Feb 15, and get to Sydney Feb 17. From there I have a 5 day orientation in and around Sydney doing all sorts of things.... the only part of the orientation that I actually know a head of time is a walking tour of Sydney on the first day (i think?). After that, man I have no real idea of what we are doing.

Anyway after that 5 day orientation I am going to New Zealand (the land of Frodo and Bilbo Baggins ) for an 8 pre-semester trip. Again, I am not exactly sure what we are doing there but it involves a glacier hike, some sort of speed boat ride/tour, and other "extreme" activities. I think there is mountain biking(?). Out of the hundreds of kids on my program, there are only like 40 that are coming on this pre-semester trip, so it will be pretty cool to be able to meet and hang out with a small group of kids and get to know them. These are all things I should probably know but I'm kind of in favor of going in a little blind, and just expecting a once in a life time experience.

Once that is over I go back to Sydney, where my apartment is, and finally get to move in and if I haven't met my roommates yet I get to do that. So about my apartment... its a 6 person, 3 bed room (yes that means sharing a bed room which is not ideal but really not that big of a deal) apartment. Other than that I have seen pictures of what it "might" look like, but these pics are so nice that I am currently chosing to believe that it is a mistake as to not get too hyped up (but from what I have heard they are amazing).

I start class on March 9, that means I have had a winter break from around Dec 17 until March 9.... that is stupid. I honestly forget what classes I'm taking exactly and (sorry mom and dad) dont really care. I'm sure they will all be interesting and I will do my work but I'm not going to go crazy studying, I'm in Australia to have fun, travel, and experience something amazingly new, not to study. It just so happens that inorder to have that experience I have to do some (yes I will work hard) school work.

T minus 1 day and a half until THE LAND DOWN UNDAAAAHHH
